RESEARCH AND UNDERSTANDING

Sambhaav’s research and documentation efforts centre on organising, preserving, and sharing knowledge from long-term fieldwork. Experiences from work on water, land, forests, and food systems are translated into accessible articles, reports, photographs, videos, and other learning resources for practitioners, students, institutions, and community groups.

Special emphasis is given to capturing traditional ecological knowledge—oral wisdom, biodiversity surveys, soil health and socio-economic surveys—to inform on-ground projects and support field teams. Additionally, the we document and characterize the seeds and crops from our seed library. This process involves documenting regional practices, nuances, outcomes, and lessons, while curating valuable materials gathered over the years.

By building a comprehensive resource—including audio-visual and 3D documentation, geospatial databases, and illustrated guides—we aim to encourage learning, reflection, and informed action beyond our immediate areas of work, ensuring that local practices and insights remain available for wider engagement and future generations.
