Our work on food builds on our long-term efforts in land and water restoration to promote resilient food systems rooted in local knowledge and ecology . In Alwar, Barmer, Dungarpur, and Jaisalmer, we support farmers in practising diverse cropping, conserving local seeds, and applying agroecological principles, while helping build community-managed water-harvesting structures such as khadeens, beris, and johads.
The approach emphasizes on soil health, use of landraces, and low-cost bio-inputs, reducing dependence on external inputs and increasing food security. Currently, we work with about 800 farmers across 90 villages, with 195 fostering seed diversity, collective organisation, and stronger local food systems through training, exposure visits, and partnerships
